Introduction:
Taiwan Intercity Bus Timetable is a practical tool for checking bus schedules across Taiwan. The app provides up-to-date departure times for major intercity bus routes, and its layout is simple enough for both local commuters and foreign visitors to grasp within a minute. I used it while traveling between Taipei and Hualien, and the timetable search helped me plan morning departures without constantly asking at the station.
A Few Boundaries to Keep in Mind
The app covers the larger intercity bus operators, but it does not list every county-run shuttle or local route. If you are heading to smaller towns, it is safer to confirm the schedule on the operator's official site. Likewise, timetable data can lag behind last-minute holiday adjustments and weather-related cancellations, so live station announcements remain the final authority.
Another thing to note is that the app needs an internet connection to load timetable updates. It does not store schedules offline, which is a real drawback on mountain roads or in rural areas with weak signal. For selected routes, the app shows only the scheduled departure time rather than the actual bus position, so a delayed service may not appear on the map until the station updates its board.
These limitations do not keep the app from being a useful companion for route planning. For standard intercity travel on well-known corridors, it is faster and more convenient than flipping through PDF timetables. Just treat it as a reference tool and double-check when a bus is late or when you are venturing off the main network.
